In Sheriff of Nottingham, players take turns playing the Sheriff, looking for contraband goods, and the Merchants trying to stock their Stall with the best goods. The Sheriff can inspect any bag they want, but they must be careful, as they’ll have to pay a penalty if they find the Merchants were telling the truth.

I'm a regular gamer, but this is a game which I can play with family.
4 players and above works very well. Some will think they are no good at bluffing/lying, but often they surprise themselves. It's recommended to get into the bluffing and bribing aspect of the game as much as you can, as that's were the fun of the game is. It's a really good game for a gregarious group.
Really enjoyed this game as we all took on the persona of the Sheriff or our characters and it made it really funny. You don't necessarily have to try to smuggle contraband to be successful and win the game so crime doesn't always pay. Loved it, it would be really fun with children too, although I've only played with adults. Don't be afraid to get silly.
I play this with my children who range from 12 - 22 years old and we all love it. It is a pretty straight forward game and very easy to learn. We could easily spend a few hours playing it over and over.
The game itself is great as it leaves lots of room for improvising and players imagination and deceiving skills, yet it is simple with few rules only.
Great game.
