Four diseases have broken out in the world and it is up to a team of specialists in various fields to find cures for these diseases before mankind is wiped out.
Players must work together, playing to their characters’ strengths and planning their strategy of eradication before the diseases overwhelm the world with ever-increasing outbreaks. But the diseases are outbreaking fast and time is running out: the team must try to stem the tide of infection in diseased areas while also towards cures.
A truly cooperative game where you all win or you all lose.
This new edition has been entirely redesigned and includes two new roles: The Contingency Planner and the Quarantine Specialist.
Takes a while to learn everything but once you get into it it’s good. Only played it once but hopefully next time we’ll be able to fly through starting it.
Best board game ever, every game is different and you can't always win!
Groan! a game with this title - NOW? Our family of 5 has tried lots of collaborative/ team work games over the years.... only to have them end in fights, or be left on the shelf after just one outing. With Pandemic, the tension runs high and it's amazing how fast everyone is drawn into the adrenaline rush of beating the outbreak... but the ONLY way to win is to work together! That doesn't mean being a team is always easy; there's lots of debate and discussion, but the sense of time running out focuses the mind, so everyone comes to appreciate one another's roles, work to make the most of these, and gets on with it. It's novel, exciting, exhausting! and reasonably quick, not long and drawn out. It's a great game for a family or a group! (There are 5 of us, all teens or adults.)
The emergent game play in Pandemic as well as its Co-op nature means that it has a lot of replay-ability. Very fun game, different from competitive games, worth trying out. The set is nice with a clear board, lovely designed cards and great pieces. Check out some videos on this one and if the game play interests you get it! Would recommend.
