    What is Carrom?

Carrom is a tabletop game of Indian origin. The game is very popular in South Asia and the Middle East, and is known by various names in different languages. The game goes by many names, and you may know it as carrum, carum, karam, karom, karum, and Indian (or Nepalese) finger billiards. Carrom is easy to understand, fun to play, and suitable for all ages.

    How to Play Carrom:

Carrom is played on a square wooden board with four corner pockets. Two players or two teams compete against each other by using a striker to flick Carrom men (small discs) into the pockets. The objective is to pocket all of your own Carrom men, as well as the red queen, before your opponent does. Points are scored based on the number of Carrom men pocketed, with the first player or team to reach a predetermined number of points winning the match.

    History of Carrom:

Carrom has a rich and diverse history, with its origins tracing back to India several centuries ago. Over the years, the game spread throughout South Asia and the Middle East, where it became a popular pastime in countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Iran. It is believed that carrom evolved from ancient board games, and its current form is thought to have been standardized during the late 19th or early 20th century.

Throughout the 20th century, carrom gained popularity in Europe and the Americas, leading to the establishment of several national and international organizations dedicated to promoting and organizing carrom events. Today, carrom is enjoyed by millions of people worldwide, with international championships and regional tournaments regularly taking place to celebrate this timeless and captivating game.
