Coup offers a thrilling experience that tests your bluffing skills and strategic thinking. Will you emerge as the most powerful family in the city-state?
2-6 Players
15 Min
Age 10+
Immerse yourself in the intrigue and deception of Coup, where you become the head of a powerful family in an Italian city-state ruled by a corrupt court. Manipulate, bluff, and bribe to gain power, with the ultimate goal of crushing the influence of rival families and sending them into exile. In this intense battle of wits, only one family will prevail.
Gameplay and Characters:
Each player starts with two coins and two influence (face-down character cards). The deck contains fifteen cards, featuring five unique characters, each with their own special powers:
You may take any character's action, regardless of your own cards. Alternatively, choose one of three other actions:
Character actions succeed unless challenged by an opponent. If challenged and unable to reveal the character, you lose an influence. If you reveal the character, the challenger loses an influence, and you draw a new card.
Optional Inquisitor Character:
Replace the Ambassador with the Inquisitor to add a new dimension to your game. The Inquisitor can exchange character cards, force opponents to reveal a card, and block theft.
Victory:
The last player with a face-down character card wins the game. Cunning strategy and deception are crucial in this fast-paced battle for supremacy.

It's a great, quick game and is so easy to play over and over again. 5?5
Arrived in great condition and it was great that it could be collected
Really great game. Quick and easy to learn, perfect for a party. The deception and bluffing elements make it.
Lots of fun with a group of 3 or more. Lie, manipulate and get into the other player's heads to win at this game.
Really enjoyable game. The bluffing aspect of it might not come naturally to some players but play a few rounds so everyone can get into the flow and everyone should be instinctively lying through their teeth.
If you're playing with players new to card games I recommend starting them off with a game like Love Letter and then move them on to Coup.
