Cascadia is an engaging tile-laying and token-drafting game for 1-4 players, featuring the habitats and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. Suited for ages 10 and up, each game lasts approximately 45 minutes.
In Cascadia, players strategically build their own terrain area and populate it with wildlife. The game begins with three hexagonal habitat tiles. Each turn, players choose a new tile paired with a wildlife token, placing both in their growing terrain. Four tiles are displayed each round, each randomly paired with a wildlife token, challenging players to adapt their strategies based on available resources. A nature token can alter these options, allowing players to choose their preferred tile-token pair.
The goal is to create a cohesive habitat, reducing fragmentation and creating wildlife corridors. Players are rewarded for the largest area of each habitat type at game's end, with a bonus if their area surpasses others. Simultaneously, placement of wildlife tokens impacts points scored, determined by random wildlife goals. Whether hawks prefer solitude, foxes seek diversity, or bears pair off, can you adapt your strategy to maximize your points? Jump into the vibrant world of Cascadia and find out!
